Writhe

Anbu Shirayuki~

Everything around me was silent as I awoke yet kept my eyes closed. Slowly I began to feel my limbs again and I twitched when a jolt a pain shot through me. My eyes squeezed tight as I yet out a raspy yell.

Calming down I slowly breathed as I opened my eyes to a dark, familiar room. The black ceiling and walls seemed darker as the moonlight light only certain parts of the room. I moved my hand out to grab Ryo's hand gently and drift back to dream land but my hand only found the silk dark blue sheets. Worried, I quickly turned to his side of the bed but ended up clutching my stomach as my eyes squeezed once again and another cry of pain slipped though my fingers.

Panting a bit, I opened my eyes and stared at my waist. Bandages covered my whole stomach which was swollen. Blood bled through some parts of the bandages and I grimced noticing my bandaged wrist and thigh as pink marks peeked through them.

I gently rested my head back on my pillow as I closed my eyes and steadied my chakra as I scanned through all of my vital organs. Everything seemed to be repaired yet my stomach had a gash on the side and laying down aloud some of it's toxic acid to escape and splash on my small intestines which cause me to writhe in pain. Quickly I placed both hands over my stomach, squeezed my eyes tight and sent all of my chakra, which had turned green, to my stomach.

My chakra engulfed my stomach in it's green glow and seemed to calm my pain the second it touched. My chakra went to the cut and my brow creased as my carefully healed the cut. I checked my oragans and bones once more before I realxed once again into the cool silk sheets. With my eyes still closed I tried to remember what had happened before. After what seemed like hours, I'd finally got it.

Ryo ran ahead of me as I lept into the trees after him. We'd completed our mission- get rid of the lightning countries Raikage. And now we were running our escape as ninja started searching for their leaders killers. But luckily we were a step ahead of them were already at Lightning Countries's border.

Letting my guard down for a second was a mistake though as a million different weapons fell from the sky and were aimed directly at me. I couldn't think fast enough but before they could touch me I was in Ryo's arms ten feet from where I used to be and where those weapons all laid. Now on high alert I heard the rustle of leaves and put up my protective bubble dome as more weapons fell from the sky.Appearing before us were two Lightning shinobi and I released my jutsu as Ryo placed me on the ground, our eyes never leaving the enemy.

I screamed as I fell to the ground, losing the feeling in my legs already. Blood seemed to fill my throat when I collided with the dirt ground. My hair fell everywhere and covered my vision as I struggled to see where Ryo was. We were outnumbered as more and more ninja appeared every second. Begining to choke on the blood that filled my throat i spit it up, struggling to at least sit up on my knees. Ryo's scream filled my hearing as it echoed and replayed in my mind and I used all of my strength to push myself up and stand on my feet once again. I looked down to the chakra filled sword that was inlodged inside me, cutting my stomach wider every movement I made. I couldn't heal it. Removing it would just make me bleed to death.

Being rash I just ran to where Ryo sat on the ground holding his bleeding eye while two ninja stood there beating him up and one more stood there laughing as Ryo layed there lost in a Genjutsu. Seeing the horror and lost look in his eyes squeezed my heart tighter which brought more strength to my legs. Now I was running, pushing myself in the middle and falling ontop of Ryo, on my hands and knees, and taking the brunt of the attacks as more blood began to leak from my mouth. Ryo escaped from the Genjutsu from my touch and now stared at me in horror as I smiled at him once more and fell ontop of him. Whispering my last words I told him I loved him before I closed my eyes and everything began to fade away. I heard a scream, and felt something warm before I couldn't feel at all. My body went numb.

I woke up once more in Ryo's arms as he called my name, tears streaming his face, and the sword out of my stomach, blood oozing from the wound freely. I saw the hope light up in his love filled onyx orbs and he pulled me in a quick hug before he kept working. I then realized he was bandaging my wounds. I looked up at him and laughed at the ironic situation before I was pulled into the darkness again.

I remembered the wounds that dressed him. His arm was broken, his leg fractured. He was bleeding on his face and the wounds on his stomach seeped through his shirt. He was too worried about me to care for his wounds and at the moment I didn't know where he was. Probably dead, shipped away to be buried. I did nothing to save him.

Realizing that I began to sit up and cried out in pain as my stomach reopened. Damn chakra wounds were never easy to heal and usually required hospital equipment. But I had to ignore my pain as Ryo was fighting for life, or maybe had already lost it, and I'm laying her crying over a stomach wound. Fuck it. Pausing for a slight moment to calm down, I quickly shot up and ended up falling back down, arching my back in pain as I let out a blood curdling yell. I huffed and puffed trying to catch my breath as another shock of pain filled my body. Once more I tried to sit up but failed and ended up on my side. Rolling over again I lifted my knees up and clutched the red pillow to my face as I shed the first of my tears. All I could do was writhe in pain and not save him.

Whoot! That was their Anbu mission. And don't worry, Ryo survives(:
